New Blink Assessment

Talent Smart has a free assessment that helps you understand your decision making.  The assessment is tailored from the book "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell.  I took the assessment and thought it was pretty good.  If you have not read the book, I highly recommend it, you can purchase it from one of the links on the side here.  Briefly, the book is about how we make decisions without thinking and how research has shown that better decisions are sometimes made by what the author calls thin slicing which is the ability of the unconscious to find patterns in situations and behavior based on narrow slices of experiences.

Entrepreneurial Propensity Assessment

Found a great new Assessment called the Entrepreneurial Propensity and Leadership Assessment.  This tool ranks you on some of the key attributes and characteristics needed to be a successful entrepreneur.  It shows your score on 7 major attributes:

Tolerance for Risk

Multitasking Capability

Financial Goals

Need for and belief in ability to achieve

Need to innovate or create

Need for recognition

Need for independence/Autonomy

This assessment also has a chart illustrating  different types of leaders, shows your strongest trait and who you need around you to succeed.  What skills and people will leverage you the greatest success. 

For me, it illustrated my success comes from partnering with others - Did I know that?  Yes, but I kept fighting it.  We know things about ourselves but we keep thinking that I need to be something else.  I need to be like ..... in order to be successful.  What this illustrated for me was that I was going against my grain.  I was going against who I was.  That is the hard way and success comes when we are able to embrace who we are in all areas and go with the flow. 

I am now out there looking for people to partner with in different ways and I will keep you posted on how it goes.  I have to go on a meeting now to explore partnering with someone on use of assessments.  I'll report my progress in future post.
